Services - Facial fillers (Juvéderm, Radiesse)

Radiesse is a safe, next generation cosmetic dermal filler that lasts longer than the former leading filler. It is setting a new standard for the correction of facial lines and wrinkles, restoring a natural, youthful look in an easy, convenient treatment. Numerous medical studies have shown that Radiesse is a safe, longer lasting treatment to fill and correct smile lines, Nasolabial Folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.  It can also be used around the cheeks for a more youthful appearance.  Radiesse is made with a synthetically produced calcium hydroxylapatile (liquid bone).  It works by stimulating the body’s own natural collagen production.  The results may last up to 1 year and in some patients 18 months.

Juvéderm is a dermal filler that provides a smooth, long lasting correction of facial wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm consist of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already present in your body. Once in the skin, Juvéderm works by creating volume.  Juvéderm has been used in France since 2001 and has been available in the United States sense in January 2007.

How Does it Work?
During treatment, the gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The gel produces volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted up and smoothed out. When enhancing lips or facial contours, the dermal fillers add volume and shape to the treated area.

What To Expect After Treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. After a lip treatment, the lips may become swollen and look somewhat uneven. This can persist for a few days (up to a week).

How long will the treatment session take?
These types of treatments are a very quick and easy process. As no pre-test is needed, the treatment can be carried out immediately. A treatment generally takes 30 minutes. The time differs somewhat, depending on the correction you wish to have performed.

Can the filler be removed?
No. However, it will dissolve naturally with time. If you feel uncertain about the desired result, you can choose to have the treatment done in steps on different occasions.

Can facial fillers replace surgical procedures? No. However, it is sometimes used in conjunction with surgery to fill out wrinkles that cannot be removed by surgery.
